reminder to self: thoughts

Reminder to self: you are not your thoughts.

Each day we have thousands of thoughts. Sometimes we are aware of them other times we are not. Sometimes they are helpful, other times not so much. It’s really easy to get caught up in thoughts where we might tell ourself we can’t do something or we aren’t good enough. It’s easy to get caught up in them and it can cause us to react in ways we don’t expect or mean too. Sometimes we might hold onto them and they feel true. But we are not our thoughts. Thoughts are not facts.

Reminder to self. Thoughts can come and go. You are not your thoughts. Try being curious about your thoughts. It doesn’t matter what they are. Observe them. Notice what happens to you when you have there’s thoughts. Notice what they cause you to do such as move away from what’s true for you. Notice non-judgementally.

Thoughts are like waves, they come and go, continually changing. There are ups and downs and we all naturally have these.

You are not your thoughts.
