Making studios
what is the project about
This project involves a series of studio making workshops designed for academics or higher education colleagues to explore the changing nature of their work through creative methods such as poetic inquiry and visual representation. The workshops aim to provide a space for participants to reflect on their experiences, insights, and understanding of the evolving academic landscape and its impact on their well-being and work.
The project aims to:
1. Engage participants in creative methods to represent and reflect on the changing nature of academic work through the creation of artifacts such as collaborative poetry and visual representations.
2. Analyze the artifacts produced during the workshops to identify themes, patterns, and insights that illuminate how creative methods can help represent and reflect the experiences and challenges faced by academics in the contemporary higher education environment.
3. Document the studio making sessions through photography and video to provide context and insights into the creative processes that lead to the production of the artifacts.
4. Disseminate the findings of the research project through publications, presentations, and other formats to contribute to the broader understanding of the changing nature of academic work and the potential of creative methods for exploring and representing these changes.
