Welcome to Series 2 Episode 2 where I talk with Alli Williamson co-founder of the Education Lab at Michelle McQuaid Pty Ltd and founder of Optima Performance Coaching located in the state of Tasmania, Australia. Alli and I talk about a recent research project where data uncovered some very interesting insights into teacher wellbeing in regard to feeling safe to share work stress. In this episode we unpack this data and talk about it in relation to finding space and the right people to be open with while expressing a level of vulnerability that can support the individual but all of us.

In this episode we highlight:

  1. One of the most significant findings from the Education Insights report on the state of wellbeing in the workplace and the data set of 100 teachers was that only 2/10 educators feel it is ok to share struggles at work.

  2. A solution maybe to build a community of wellbeing practice to assist….(I love love love this idea)….we chat about what this could look like? How could we start this? What might it require from us?

  3. Top tips for why should pre-service teachers and beginning teachers should focus on their wellbeing.

  4. Super top tip for what we should stop doing and what we should start doing when it comes to our wellbeing.
