“Reminder to self” (April - May 2021)

A series of Instagram posts were created using Adobe Spark Post as a way to promote a variety of different self-care practices and strategies that can be engaged with. The content was created by Dr Narelle Lemon based on conversations with pre-service teachers studying in their final year. We talked, brainstormed, reflected upon and connected on pressures of becoming a teacher, especially in relation to the final professional experience placement - the time spent in a school or educational setting connecting theory and practice. This is always a particularly stressful time for future teachers.

This series aimed to share both a practice or strategy as well as connection to wellbeing theory. Key was short, practical and micro-moments of self-care that can be achievable and empowering. Create and shared over a period of a 4 week block when pre-service teachers were on their placement, critical moments of time were targeted as a way to support self-care.
